The cuisine of Puglia is famous for being among the best in Italy.
Puglian food is deeply rooted in the traditions of this southern Italian region, its geography, and its history as the breadbasket of Italy and the largest producer of olive oil.
Exploring this picturesque region of southern Italy, suddenly between neat, tall rows of grape vines and the sea of shimmering olive trees with their ancient, disfigured and twisted trunks, I found myself in heaven.
An intense blue sky and picturesque white-stoned towns only added to the already blissful atmosphere. I’m in Trani.
And more precisely, I’m slowly eating myself to death in Trani to Corteinfiore Restaurant.
Not on purpose, but that’s just the way it’s done here.
Food is taken seriously.
When they say “antipasto” they actually mean twenty portions of the most exquisite, yet simple, fresh ingredients that will leave you with nowhere near enough space to fit in that plate of pasta you have coming up next. Not to mention the main.
Every single dish burst with flavor and freshness.
I have never had such pleasure eating and tasting each single mouthful or morsel.
That was just the antipasto.
The owner Michele Matera does the honors of home, with great professionalism, warmly welcoming his guests and making sure to advise them to the best taste every delicacy of the sea, revisited with interpretations of great balance and refined creativity.
Even the wine list, in a great selection, gives a foretaste of the refinement of the entire offer of the restaurant.
Here in Trani, the coastline of turquoise sea and white cliffs combine to form a dramatic backdrop and the Corteinfiore Restaurant & Luxury Residence is the perfect spot for a week of culinary indulgence and relaxation.
